Condition?!? - How I rate our Posters an Lobbycards.
I'm using using the common American 6-grade sytem (mint to poor) to rate the overall condition of a poster and lobbycard. In addintion to this every item includes a large picture to provide you with all information you need.
Of course the listings also provide information about wether a poster is rolled or folded. Since most German movieposters up to the 80s were sent folded to theatres this doesn't affect the rating of the condition of the poster.
If you are unsure about the condition of an item or if you have any other questions about it, please send us a mail to info@classic-movieposters.de.
Please note: the overall condition of an item with many small defects may be the same as the overall condition of a nearly perfect item with only one lager defect. Please refer to the additional information or send me a mail if you are unsure about an items condition.
mint:
Posters in "mint" condition are perfect and look like they have just come out of the press. They don't have any defects at all.
near mint:
"near mint" items are in great condition and only show very slight signs of usage such as very few pinholes, minor wrinkles etc.
very good:
"very good" items show a few sign of usage (pinholes, slight borderdamage, etc.) but no serios defects. They can have writing on the back, a few tapemarks on the back or in the corners but the have almost no defects that affect the artwork.
good:
"good" items are still very collectible and will look great if framed, but may have some more serious defects such as paper-loss, tears etc.
fair:
usually I don't list "fair" items. exceptions are only made with rare and hard to find items and you can be sure that the price of these items is much lower than the price of a near-mint counterpart would be. These items have serious defects such as writing on the front, larger paper loss, cut borders etc.
poor:
I have noch listed a "poor" item until now, but would consider listing a "poor" item if it's extraordinary rare. "poor" condition means that the defects are so serious that the item will need professional restoration..
